Breathe Your Way to Better Physical and Emotional Health

Over the years I have observed that nearly all chroncially ill people are shallow breathers. I've also observed that different emotional problems create corresponding imbalances in one's breathing.  In this article, I discuss why breathing is so important to physical and emotional health. I also share breathing exercises you can use to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Overcoming Metabolic Syndrome

One of the biggest health problems we face in modern society is metabolic syndrome. This imbalance in body chemistry ranges from mild insulin resistance to full-blown diabetes. Metabolic syndrome has been called by many names: hyperinsulinemia, syndrome X, cardiometabolic syndrome, diabesity and insulin resistance syndrome. Do Your Intestines Leak?

Colon cleansing is a very popular therapy among people involved in natural health care, but this article isn't about colon cleansing. It's about colon "toning," or in other words healing the inflammation and damage associated with leaky gut.

Making Stock (or Bone Broth)

Bone broth or stock is made by simmering meat, bones and vegetables for many hours.  This process extracts minerals from the bones, amino acids like glutamine that are important for gut and brain health and gelatin, which helps with connective tissue.  Bone broth is very good to help heal a damaged intestinal tract in SIBO and Leaky Gut Syndrome. It is also good for building greater immunity and resistance to disease. Because it extracts nutrients from bones and joints, it also supports the health of teeth, bones, joints and connective tissues, which can help people with arthritis, osteoporosis, tooth decay and other structural problems.

Coconut Oil and Nut Butter Fudge

It's easier to improve your diet if you make healthier versions of your favorite treats. So, for all you fellow choco-holics out there, here's my recipe for a coconut oil and nut butter fudge. It's not low calorie, but it is very satisfying and doesn't have any refined sugars or unnatural ingredients.

The Vital Importance of Good Nutrition

One of the most important keys to maintaining good health is good nutrition. In fact, it’s quite possible that the majority of the disease we face are simply caused by poor nutrition. So, before we start trying to get well by taking herbs or nutritional supplements, we should look at resolving two primary problems. One of these is improving our nutrition, which is the subject of this article.

Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon

In the many years I've been involved in natural healing, I've read many books on the subject of nutrition.  I've also tried many different types of diets, including things like juice fasting, eating vegetarian, mild food diets (eating only fruits ...

Asking the Wrong Question Won't Get You the Right Answer

This article explores why modern medicine has failed to come up with reliable remedies for colds and flu.  It presents the idea that if you don't ask the right questions you can't get the right answers. Those of us who are willing to "think outside the box" are often people who ask questions that other people are afraid to ask.
