The Secret Teachings of Plants: The Intelligence of the Heart in the Direct Perception of Nature
by Stephen Buhner
There are books that I "skim read" just catching the highlights and that I "devour" because they are just so interesting. But, the books that I love the most are the ones that I read a few pages and what I learn is so profound that I have to put the book down and ponder it for a while. This book was one of the later. I spent over a month reading it because I just kept having to put it down and think.
The Secret Teachings of Plants: The Intelligence of the Heart in the Direct Perception of Nature explained so much of what I'd experienced doing emotional healing work. It also validated why the heart was so important and needed to become an equal partner with the mind. It helped me understand how our hearts can communicate and receive complex information, not only from other people, but from animals, plants and even environments.
This book gave me what I needed to know in order to be more bold in talking about what I've learned from my own emotional healing work, and is a highly recommended companion to my own book, The Heart's Key to Health, Happiness and Success. Buy it and ponder the implications of what it means to understand that the heart has the power to think independently of the brain and what would happen to the world if we listened more to our hearts and less to our heads.
